A lil’ about Canteen

The Canteen in the College, is sandwiched between the library and amphitheatre. Behind it, is the ground.

The Canteen is small. I think it can accomodate 50 persons maximum at a particular time. The dome shaped roof and the two windows, provides ample sunlight and it makes it feel a little less claustrophobic. In the name of seating, well plastic chairs and tables will be all. Though there are two tall tiled table structures (about 5 feet high), which should be your go to place if you want to eat.

The menu is straight, all fast food. The Canteen has paties (paneer and aloo ones), sandwich, burgers, kurkure, lays, biscuits of various brands and other eateries. The affair to get them is simple, walk up to the counter, ask for them and pay.

What i think

I am not a fan of Canteen in Institutes, and never have been. For others, it might be a place to hang out with their friends, but so is the ground and the benches under the tree.

Give or take, it is one of the place the College offers to us, the students. And It is a good place to spend time when you have it. Also, food, the love of life, is here.

A visit, once in a month, will suffice for me.

Make Way, Election in the house

Election is the topic I am excited about. Every person in the college should be, I think they will be when they get to know about it.

Brushing up
Googling is a simple thing. It makes you known to the unknown. Now, a bit of googling told me something about student elections in Haryana.

They were banned in 1996. Something happened. Don’t know what. So it is a cool twenty years after student elections will be held in Haryana.

The election will be indirect, like they elect President of India. In the terms of layman, the collegefolk will choose a class representative who will then choose the secretary, president and other posts’ person.

What sort of work will they do? What is expected of them? When will the elections happen? Regarding these things, I am just as clueless as the person sitting next to me.

FIRST WEEK HERE

I have completed my first week here, at Government PG College, Sector 9 Gurgaon, and my mind is full of things.

First impression is not the last impression, those who say it are prejudiced people. No one knows for sure, a thing thought of bland by them may slowly grow on them. I think of this college like this. Acceptance, both of us will take time to accept each other.

Initial impressions
The first thing I noticed as I made my way, was the combination of nature with man’s aesthetics. They exist in harmony here. Trees are in line next to cemented pavement. Greenery is in abundance with the structures of concrete.

Janta of College, the crowd, is a mixed bag. Loud, uncaring; I’ll find more about them in the weeks that’ll follow.
